Just an FYI to our GR'ites out there that thanks to a
change in direction by
UBI back in January, the latest installment of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series..
.Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (GR:FS)...now has a release date and even requirements info for us PC players.
If you're like me and having experienced a little bit of (that abonimation)
Ghost Recon: Online, this is pretty welcome news. It's also a bit suprising after the whole
"95% of our consumers will pirate" comment from one of UBI's producers back in November. But something to keep in mind is that by all accounts, GR:FS is going to be a console port for us PC players. We'll just have to see how good/bad that means but at the very least we should expect a simplified control scheme to accomodate the consoles.
PCgamer.com is reporting we can expect to see GR:FS in stores or as a digital download June 12
th for the US and June 15
th for the UK.
You can check out
this post by Rocky over @
GhostRecon.net for a complete rundown on the requirements...which didn't look to bad to be honest.
Don't forget that
GhostRecon.net is
THE place for all your GR info since like I can ever remember (and we've been kicking around here since 2001!) including info on the newly announced
FacebookTM game
Ghost Recon: Commander.
