What can you say but LoL and told ya so?

If anyone had any ideas about what GR:3 is being built for...you just got your answer.? This is going to be a console game ported to PC.

Hey, I don't blame UBI for trying to make money.? Who can't?? But our group of die hard GR playahs might well erase any hope of a true sequel title to their aging classic game because GR:3 isn't going to be it IMHO.? I'm sure it'll be a good game, but it won't be what a sequel to GR classic should be.

I'm a little shocked tbh.? You'd think that UBI would seize this opportunity to build a bridge back to the PC gamers it burnt down with cancelling GR:2 for the PC by releasing GR:3 for the PC first? :o.

Welp, this still doesn't make me want to sink the money into one of these next-gen consoles...I'd rather save that money for the PC rebuild I know I'll be doing at some point in 2006.

What i am about to post is a point made in a factsheet conducted from posts made in Ubisoft....

The next evolution of the franchise, as we all know, is ?Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter?. The project has been in the works for about 18 months, and is a multi-studio project. The Xbox 360 version is being development at RSE, with Christian as the lead designer. The various studios, RSE, Ghost GRIN and Tiwak (another Ubisoft studio) have all been working very closely with each other to make sure the entire project comes off successfully.
Sound and Location are the only things that are ported.

and spartan come on! be more positive thinking and supportive lol!!! i still think its gona b an awesome game, and i cannot wait 4 it 2 come out, a post that dasmerg made in fort chaos was that he was surprised that ubisoft did this as they should really be building the bridges with computer players after cancelling GR2, rather than prosponing because of the XBOX version, which i agree with.

I mean what the hell has XBOX got anything to do with PC? i dont have an xbox so why should i have to wait so that the xbox players can get the game? its the developers fault (redstorm entertainment i believe) for running 4 months late, where as GRIN (who developed it souly for COMPUTER players) have made it nearly dead on time!!!!!! its bloody stupid and the ubisoft person that decided this is damn annoyin and i want to hurt him lol :D

Well, I was never optimistic about any GR games after Ubi Soft's fumble on Raven Shield.  The talk about GR2 and then Ubi Soft saying there would be no PC version and now GR3 being delayed, what I believe, in the end, is that GR3 will be only for a console.

PC's are very expensive. Consoles are not.  Programming for a PC is very expensive. Programming for a console is not. The difference is the Windows operating system.

Everyone can afford a $250.00 console. Not everyone can afford a $3,000.00 + computer gaming rig.  If I were betting, online gaming is going they way of the console and mass market affordability.

The PC Version will be hold back because Microsoft is paying a basket of money for it. They don't wonna get any game to PC market that is not the same time for their XBOX available. It would disattract people from the consols. It's just that easy and MS has the money to do it.

Inside Track from someone who actually worked for and created the marketing for the Xbox Console, Stated to me , that GR 3 would be on the PC, even though it would have to be about the same time released as the version for Xbox 360, or a little after that. MS is just now gonna become profitable on their Consoles this Christmas Season, which means they will not be pushing the software companies around so hard , and that hopefully will allow more PC titles to become more availible. Another interesting thing I was made aware of is that MS is looking into making X360 capable of handling PC games or vice versa, in the near future if they haven't already done so, using their online services. Not really sure how thats gonna play out but that was the bug that was dropped into my ear.

Wouldnt that run the companys that only produce PC games out of business & vise versa?

Dunno... that kinda seems strange that MS would go that far

I think it is going to be limited to a certian extent and you will need to have the Online sevice to download content from MS to make it compitable, I think it's mainly to get more ppl active on their online service Xbox Live. Like I said I am not completely sure on how it's gonna work, I do know that in order to make your existing Xbox games compatible you will have to have Xbox Live to DL  patch files.

Don't dream, they will make it into another !"/$%?" console game and PC gamers will be left to dry in the desert... just like GR2 !  >:(

I don't believe UBI$oft to be attracted to the PC market. Console make them more $$$ and that's where the are heading.
Numbers are killing us : $250-350 (basic to "dressed" xbox with some gizmo like fancy controller etc.) vs an entry level gaming PC rig at $1500-2000 and you got the market !

PC gamers show more loyalty to their game than console gamers (ie: some of us still play the original GR, anyone playing something that old on console ?). The  bigger turn around in game make them more $$$, which magicallt turn into stock options, which transform into fancy sports cars for marketing executives and our carriage turn into a pumpkin ! :'(
