Limewire latest on the whack-a-mole fest
« on: October 27, 2010, 05:08:05 PM »
Interesting news today as a New York Judge has ordered an injunction effectively shutting down Limewire as we have known it.

That game of whack-a-mole continues!

Funny when you think about it because Limewire predates the iPod by just a year and iTunes store by nearly 2 years (source).  The even funnier thing is that whoever is doing this thinks this will stop anything?  I'm not saying go out and pie-rat, PIE-rat, PIE-RAT! but c'mon now.  How many of these services are there...not including BT...and never minding some of the more old school forms of file sharing?  If you want xyz file/mp3/program/what-have-you, you can get it, if you know what I mean  ;) and this really does is inconvenience.

But hey, I'm sure some big law firm got a gazillion dollars out of the deal.

So apparently Limewire has plans to go legit, a la Napster and we'll hear about another great victory in the fight  again pie-rat-cy.
