So for those that don't know, or maybe have lives outside of the CoD series (pffft on you loosers) this weekend is
CoD XP in La-La land...that is...a gigantic reveal bash complete with zip line, re-created burger town, real life recreation of the map Scrap Town set up for paint ball and more consoles that you can shake a stick at that those who bought tickets for the event can demo where they (Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer) are at with development of MW3. Oh yeah, and there's this little $1million dollar tournament going there too if all that wasn't enough.
And this also means let the trailers and gameplay vids fly!
MW3 Official Multi-player trailer...
MW3 multiplayer gameplay...
IMO...the first thing that stands out is this looks a whole lot like MW2...so much in fact that many are already call this MW2.5 (and the h8tr's have mocked that by calling it MW2.2 LoL!). Now is that a bad thing? Wasn't MW2 one heck of a game that folks even still play and talk fondly about today? Wasn't MW2 a pretty monster sized hit of a game?
What will be interesting to see is the differences and if being stuck 2 years in the past hurts CoD. What I mean is that for BF:3 players on PC, we're going to get a DX11 game with all the bells and whistles that DX11 brings us while MW3 is going to be, well in a lot of ways, stuck in DX9 not to mention be kind of same old, same old in character and world modeling.
