Howdy all!
For those that have been regularly stopping by, you may have noticed that ye olde site has been having some issues over the last few days. Namely, my webhost abruptly notified me that the old website was using a whole lot of resources. To be honest, this was a great excuse for me to finally get off me duff and get to doing something I've been thinking about doing for a couple of months now.
So I've removed the old PHPNuke site (I still have the database files for it) and added to our forums. The software behind the forums has some terrific little add-ons like this one, that turns our forums into a complete website. Weeee!
All of us have been very busy to continually update the website with new content but we've all been able to keep reguarly or semi-regularly keeping touch via our forums. A few months ago, I asked for folks opinion on just dropping the old style of website + forum and the overwhelming majority responded that they'd like to see both. After looking at the results and a few comments, I had to agree. But you'll have to agree that the website was looking a little on the sad side with very irregular front page news additions. So over the coming hours, this weekend and days, you'll see what I hope to be a nice metamorphasis of our community website...yet again.
The nice thing about this metamorphisis? You don't have to re-create a user account and we don't loose any real data.
I can see from early monkeying around in the backend, there's going to be some fun new features to play around with as well.
So in the meantime, jot down your thoughts via forum post or shout and keep checking back.
